For me, living in the Now can be difficult. As I discussed in my post Regrets, I have been living way too much in the past. I am also a planner so if I’m not stuck in the past then I’m looking towards the future.
My good friend Sarahbeth has a fantastic blog and I love reading her “Gratitude Friday” posts. I think naming what you are grateful for right now is a wonderful way to bring yourself into the present and to focus on what you have instead of what you lack. So here’s a nod to Sarahbeth as I follow in her footsteps and share with you what I am grateful for right now…
My sweet baby girl Amelia Evangeline
I still remember the first moment I laid eyes on her like it was yesterday. I balled my eyes out while saying “oh my God” over and over again. She brings so much joy into my life. She is truly the love of my life.
My sweet Emma girl
We’ve been through a lot Emma and I. She’s my best friend.
My goofy Rupert boy
He’s such a sweet, dopey coonhound. He’s got issues (as most coonhounds do – it’s part of their nature) but he is such a sweet, loving companion.
I am a morning person. Now that I have Amelia I’m even more of a morning person than before. Little girl wakes up between 5:30-6:00am. I get to see the sun rise every single morning and it is always spectacular.
I’ve started collecting tiny plants. Aren’t they just adorable! These guys make me smile 🙂
The relationship my hound dogs and daughter have
From the first moment my hound dogs laid eyes on my daughter she was instantly accepted as a pack member. Rupert claimed her as “his baby” immediately. I love watching such sweet bonds grow. I firmly believe that every child should grow up with a pet.
My fat cat Bubba
Who was NOT in the mood for pictures this morning! Haha! He’s outside frolicking around the neighborhood. I’ve had Bubba for 11 years. He has been my longest relationship. We’ve been through so much together – we’ve lived in 3 different cities, went through Hurricane Katrina together…he’s been by my side through the good and the bad. I love him dearly.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! The weather has turned brisk here in WNC.
