It’s been a loooooooong week. I am glad Friday is here which means 2 more days until Amelia’s 1st birthday! My baby is looking and acting more and more like a toddler these days. It’s been super fun watching her grow. Playing with her is becoming more and more interesting and entertaining.
I’ve been lamenting quite a bit on this blog about how difficult teething has been for us. Note: 10 crazy thoughts from a sleep deprived mama of a teething baby. I bought a Baltic Amber teething necklace a few months back. Baltic Amber necklaces are said to have anti-inflammatory & analgesic capabilities and promise to reduce drooling and fussiness due to teething.
I decided I needed to do some more research before using the necklace because I was worried about it being a choking hazard. Well, things got busy and I didn’t get around to that research until a couple of weeks ago. These necklaces are knotted and will unclasp under pressure so there is no concern that the necklace will get caught on something and strangle her. Baring that your child doesn’t try to play with the necklace, there is no danger in your child wearing it.
That being said, I decided to give it a try. I see a huge difference in Amelia! As promised, her drooling has ceased, she’s stopped pulling on her ears, and her fussiness has greatly reduced. We haven’t had to use teething tablets, Tylenol, or gum ointments since using the necklace! I am a believer! I was definitely skeptical and worried that this was some “woo-woo” BS that’s become a fad among natural mamas (note: I consider myself a “natural mama” but I’m also a realistic mama who believes in science and evidence-based research). Nope! Not the case!
My only regret is that I wish I used this necklace earlier because I could have spared myself and Amelia months of teething agony. I highly recommend giving it a try!
