We are in the middle of our first winter snow storm here in the mountains of western North Carolina. I couldn’t be happier about it! I love the snow! I love my wood stove – which is currently blazing right now. I love hot beverages during a snow storm – coffee is sitting right next to me as I write this post. I love being cooped up in the house – I think I may be a homebody. I love cooking during a snow storm – I think I’m going to bake some homemade bread today. I wish I thought to buy a whole chicken at the store yesterday because homemade chicken and dumplings soup sounds perfect right now.
I bet you can see where this is going…
This week I am grateful for
Not only do I love snowstorms for the reasons I just explained, but I also love them even more now because a little less than a year ago we were in the midst of a similar snowstorm and it’s during that snowstorm that I went in to labor. So now snowstorms remind me of the weekend I met the love of my life Amelia Evangeline. Because I’m feeling all nostalgic I’ll share with you some photos from that magical snowstorm.
I love this series of photos of Emma and I playing in the snow! I went in to labor around midnight that night.
I love my playful hounds! Are they just not the most adorable fur babies!?
I cannot wait to put our snow gear on and go play in the snow with the dogs AND Amelia this time 🙂
Who else is in the line of fire for this big winter storm sweeping the east coast? How do you like to ride out a winter storm?
