As I discussed in my post Regrets, I have been dealing with healing regrets that have been plaguing me for some time now. The “shoulda, coulda, woulda” talk is a painful and unproductive cycle that can be hard to break from. One of my shoulda, coulda, woulda’s is wishing I traveled more before becoming a mom. Sure, motherhood doesn’t mean you have to stay put, but let’s be honest – traveling is a lot more cumbersome with little ones. Your margin for spontaneity decreases.
Here’s the funny thing though. I have traveled quite a bit! I have been to Germany twice, Italy twice, Czech Republic, British Columbia, New Zealand, and all over the US. I have lived in 3 different cities. I have traveled more than a lot of people. So why is it not enough? That’s a question who’s answer I’m still searching for.
So this Friday I am grateful for…
the traveling I have been fortunate enough to do
I have done some amazing trips that some people only dream of doing. I will get to travel again and explore other cultures. I will get to see my friends & family abroad again. Until then, I must stay grateful for my past adventures instead of focusing on wanting more.
