I can’t believe it’s December already. The panic is beginning to set it. I have done ZERO Christmas shopping. This is Amelia’s first Christmas so I’ve put a ridiculous amount on pressure on myself to make this Christmas spectacular! I need to cut that shit out and relax. She’s 9 months old. She isn’t going to remember a thing. She’ll probably be more interested in playing with the boxes the toys came in rather than the toys themselves. So I should just go out and buy some boxes!
Okay, what I am grateful for…
Supportive and helpful professors
This week I had a coffee date with one of my professors from UNC Asheville. We talked about the new direction I want to take with my career. She offered up some great advice and words of encouragement. The fact that she took time out of her day (mind you it’s finals season right now so things are chaotic for students and professors) to meet with an old student and help offer some guidance is just awesome.
My alma mater – The University of North Carolina at Asheville
My college experience at UNCA was a positive one. I am so grateful for the lasting relationships I made. The professors I still keep in close contact with are more friends now and I am super grateful for their friendship.
Yes, I’m the weird one and I do enjoy winter. Until mid January. Then I’m over it. The great thing about the cold is warming up. There’s nothing better than a warm fire in the wood stove and fur babies to snuggle up with on the couch. It’s my favorite.
