It’s finally Friday, which really means nothing to me because motherhood doesn’t take a break on the weekends, and I felt inspired to write a Gratitude Friday post. Things have been rocky and hard for us lately and I’ve been really defeated and down – which is always a good time to take stock of that which you are grateful for.
My mother and I have had many ups and downs. To say our relationship has been rocky throughout the years is unfortunately a very true statement. However, we’ve had many lovely and loving moments throughout our journey together as well. I believe we are great teachers for each other and however tumultuous that manifests itself we are here to push each other to grow which I believe is a good thing ultimately.
Well recently, I was in need of some motherly help and my mom delivered. I’m not quite ready to get into the details about it, but let’s just say she showed up for me when I needed it most. There have been many times where this was not the case, but I’m grateful to say this moment in time is not one of those cases.
This goes to show you that however many times you’ve been disappointed by someone there is always a chance for that to change for the better.
Things are still rough, but there is a beautiful, glowing light out on the horizon for us and my sweet Momma helped make that light a little brighter. Thanks Momma. I know we have our dramatic moments, but I really do love you and appreciate you.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend filled with hope and positive growth.
