This post is super exciting because it means I am venturing into the world of DIY blogging! I don’t know about you, but I am a Pinterest addict when it comes to all things DIY with cleaning and organization. Hello, the title of this blog is –> TYPE A <– Mamas. Are we surprised?
So a few weeks ago I saw this video on the “Nifty” Facebook page (which is an awesome page to follow for awesome, random tidbits) about cleaning car head lights and I decided to give it a try and share my results with you.
Tools you will need:
- whitening toothpaste
- an old toothbrush
- a rag
Apply whitening toothpaste to the headlight and let sit for 15 minutes.
Using an old toothbrush scrub the headlight.
Wipe the toothpaste off with a rag. I found I had to get the rag damp and rub the toothpaste off in circular motions then wipe clean with a dry rag.
And VOILA! You are done! How easy was that!? You just saved yourself hundreds of dollars on professional detail work!
So you know what the greater moral of the story is?
We should all stop using whitening toothpaste!
I mean seriously people. If whitening toothpaste scrubbed off car headlight grim then what is it doing to your teeth? I stopped using whitening toothpaste years ago because my teeth became sensitive. I bet it had something to do with the enamel being scrubbed off my teeth.
Anyway, this method of cleaning car headlights was cheap, easy, and took a total of 20 minutes to do. Try it out and let me know how it goes!
